A letter from the host!

Hey everyone 👋🏽

My name is Sharath. I'm a founder, community builder, angel investor, and content creator.

The last decade was a crucial period in my life. I moved from a small village in India to the US with a big dream of starting my own startup. Little that I know that it isn’t that easy - especially for someone like me who is an immigrant with visa restrictions, who speaks English as a second language, who is non-technical, and who is not a natural storyteller or a seller! The odds are truly against me!

Despite these odds, I hustled, challenged myself, and most importantly never stopped taking a chance. Today, I’m extremely grateful and blessed for where I am. To give you a glimpse, I co-founded and scaled a SaaS startup called Shoutout from $0 to $30k in annual revenue, which I eventually sold to a UK-based product studio, won prestigious awards, previously worked for some popular household brands in tech like Product Hunt, On Deck, launched 15+ projects using no-code tools, built a solid network and audience from 200 to 23K on Twitter. Now, I’m not stopping here. I'm taking a new identity by becoming a content creator this year.

I have always wanted to start a podcast and never found a sign or a theme until recently. In 2022, I’ve been trying my hand at content creation. I started a YouTube channel, experimented with audio/video content a few times, and quickly realized I loved doing this. So with this energy, curiosity and my love towards underdogs, I’m super stoked to announce my podcast and I call it - The Undefeated Underdogs Podcast.

My goal for the podcast is to create a platform to narrate underdog stories like mine and maybe play a small role in inspiring you. I intend to highlight the underdog mentality and make authentic conversations with people who play the long game, take action with a chip on their shoulder, and convert obstacles into opportunities!

Buckle up, as I will be bringing some authentic founders, VCs, community builders, and content creators who got underestimated their whole life, and yet they beat the odds and became insanely successful!

LFG 🚀

Onward,
Sharath
